Corentin Moutet sharply beaten by Novak Djokovic in the second round in Rome

Corentin Moutet did not create a surprise. Returning to the competition, the Serbian Novak Djokovic did not go into detail by beating the Frenchman in two sets (6-3, 6-1) on Friday. After trailing 3-1 in the first set, the world No. 1 won the next five games to win the first set before dropping just one game in the second. Cornered by the power of the Serb, Moutet committed 20 unforced errors.

However, the match had started for the Ile-de-France resident who broke the Serb (3-1). In training for his recovery since his lost semi-final in Monte-Carlo, Djokovic entered the table in Rome before one of his main objectives of the season, Roland-Garros (May 26 to June 9). But the Serbian woke up to crack Moutet who was no match for the forehands of the five-time winner in Rome.

Djoko did not decrease in intensity, impassive including when Moutet returned to his bench to answer a call on his phone. The scene made the Serb laugh, who kept smiling at the end of the match as he concluded the match. Djokovic will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in the third round on Sunday.
