Intel publishes the program for its next Innovation event. The calendar of all the sessions that will take place is available. The giant has planned an appointment named “ Intel Client Hardware Roadmap and the Rise of AI “. It is possible that details around the Core Ultra processors will be given. These chips are also known by the code name “Meteor Lake”.
The rumors around Meteor Lake have counted on an announcement towards the end of the year but without further details. Scheduled for September and over two days, this Innovation event is therefore plausible. In addition, Intel traditionally presents new customer products on this occasion such as new processors (desktop and mobile PCs) or graphics solutions (GPU Arc for example).
This year’s event might therefore focus on 14th Gen Core chips (Raptor Lake Refresh-S) and upcoming Core Ultra processors aimed at laptops. One of the talks will be dedicated to the Meteor Lake architecture while information on the future with a particular focus on AI is expected.
Meteor Lake is supposed to take a step by embodying the first client architecture to integrate AI acceleration cores. They are known as VPUs. The “Meteor Lake” architecture is not totally unknown, however Intel should address important details such as the number of cores, frequencies and level of performance.
Intel Core Ultra
We have known for many that this new architecture will introduce a new naming scheme called Core Ultra. They will operate Redwood Cove P-Cores and Crestmont E-Cores. On this subject, the latest indiscretions speak of a maximum of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores accompanied by 2 LPEs and an IGPU equipped with a maximum of 8 Xe cores.
Intel Innovation will open its doors on September 18.
