Aguas Cordobesas reported this Thursday the rupture of a 1,600-mm diameter pipe in the south of Córdoba capital and asked residents of that area to take care of the supply.
As reported, the rupture occurred in a pipeline located between the Los Molinos Plant and the South Elevator Station.

“At this moment, all our teams are in the area looking for the escape point, since a large part of the trace is in fields affected by the rain, which makes it difficult to locate,” he specified on his Twitter account.
In this context, they asked the residents “to take extreme care of the reserve of their water tanks, using it for basic hygiene, drinking and food activities, while this situation lasts.”
Shortly following noon, a company spokesperson reported: “although we have already found the escape point, due to the area and the adverse weather the tasks will take longer than usual, so we ask that we take extreme care of the water.”
Since morning, there have been more than 160 affected neighborhoods, but following noon “the impact zone was reduced because we have transferred some sectors that will be supplied by the Suquía plant,” reported from Aguas Cordobesas.
The neighborhoods that recovered service by receiving water from the Suquía Plant are Centro, Alto Alberdi, Carbó, Obispo Angelelli, Observatorio, Santa Isabel 2nd section, Valle Cercano and Villa el Libertador.
More than 24 hours to repair the break
After 7:00 p.m. this Thursday, from Aguas Cordobesas they provided more details regarding the pipe breaking. “We inform that the works continue to be able to carry out the repair of the 1,600-millimeter-diameter pipe located between the outlet of the Los Molinos Water Treatment Plant and the South Elevator Station. It is a complex activity due to its location and weather conditions. For this reason, all our teams are already in the area working with the heavy machinery necessary to carry out the repair tasks,” they indicated.
“The works will take more than 24 hours, so the following supply scheme was established, which will be implemented with trucks provided by the province of Córdoba, by the City Municipality and our company.”
