Starting today, the Corazón Salsero foundation opens training classrooms in the Parque Central complex.
As reported by its president, Javier Key, this is “the first of the plans we have for this year. The idea is to expand our seedbed, which is where the next generation of salsa is.”
He explained that this will increase the number of teachers, not only in music, but also in singing and dancing, since the training program of the aforementioned foundation is multidisciplinary. “Students will receive percussion, harmony and singing classes. In that space we will also inaugurate the Corazón Salsero recording studio.”
Likewise, Key announced that an action plan was signed together with the People’s Guard “to bring the seedbed to the neighborhoods of Caracas. This is a plan that we are currently working on, and whose programming we plan to start during the holidays.”
These actions are part, according to what Key declared, of the route to the celebration of Salsa Day in Venezuela, next October 5. An anniversary that was declared in 2020, following almost two decades of being proposed. The date coincides with the birth of Phidias Danilo Escalona.
