Coparmex, ‘excited’ by Altagracia Gómez as Coordinator of the Business Advisory Council – El Financiero

The Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) of Mexico City expressed its enthusiasm following the decision of Claudia Sheinbaum, virtual president-elect, to appoint Altagracia Gómez Sierra as Coordinator of the Business Advisory Council of the next Government of the Republic.

According to Coparmex, this appointment represents a significant step towards strengthening the dialogue between the business sector and the government, which is crucial for economic and social development. “The appointment of Altagracia Gómez, a young businesswoman from Jalisco with a fresh and committed vision, heralds a new era of productive collaboration,” it said.

Adalberto Ortiz, President of Coparmex, stated: “We have had the opportunity to learn regarding Altagracia Gómez’s work and vision, particularly during her participation in our recent Nearshoring Talks 2024 event. Her focus on shared prosperity and her understanding of the importance of the historic moment that Mexico is experiencing in the global context fill us with optimism.”

During his speech at the aforementioned event, Gómez Sierra emphasized the need to take advantage of the unique opportunity that nearshoring represents for Mexico, underlining the importance of strategic planning that unifies various national plans to ensure the country’s competitiveness and the fulfillment of social objectives.

Coparmex shared that Altagracia’s appointment is aligned with the vision of an Inclusive Development Model promoted by our Confederation, where economic progress goes hand in hand with social and sustainable development.

“We look forward to working closely with Altagracia Gómez and her team,” added Ortiz. “Their experience and commitment to regional economic development will be critical to addressing the challenges facing our city and country, especially in taking advantage of opportunities such as nearshoring.”
