The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, inaugurated Dr Alexander Zulkarnain as Member of the Administration and Finance Division of BP Batam, replacing Wahjoe Triwidijo Koentjoro, Monday (26/8).
Taking place in Balairungsari, Airlangga hopes that Alexander Zulkarnain can immediately adapt in supporting BP Batam’s strategic steps to increase investment value in the future.
“Change of officials is a common thing for organizations as a form of implementing the Tour of Duty. I congratulate Mr. Alexander for his new assignment and thank Mr. Wahjoe for his dedication and devotion,” said Airlangga.
In addition, Airlangga also appreciated the performance of BP Batam which has successfully driven investment growth in the last five years.
Where, the strategic role of BP Batam has been able to make Batam the locomotive of the economy of the Riau Islands Province in the last few years.
“I hope the presence of new officials can provide new energy for BP Batam in improving its work because the key to Indonesia’s growth is the presence of investment,” he added.

He advised all BP Batam officials to maintain synergy with the Batam City Government, the Riau Islands Provincial Government, and the Indonesian Government in supporting future investment development.
Considering, Batam is one of the investment destinations in Indonesia with various advantages in it. Including the presence of several Special Economic Zones (KEK) such as Nongsa Digital Park (NDP) and Batam Aero Technic (BAT).
“BP Batam needs to address the challenges of the global economy, increasing geopolitical tensions and current climate change. BP Batam must also be able to make Batam more competitive as a leading investment destination,” he concluded.
