MINISTER of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Supratman Andi Agtas met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, (20/8/2024). Supratman said that the Draft Law (RUU) on Cooperatives was the first homework that had to be completed.

“There is one law that he emphasized that it should be completed as soon as possible during this period, because it has not been discussed in the DPR, namely the Cooperatives Law,” said Supratman at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (20/8/2024).

The President, said Supratman, views the bill as very important to be completed before the end of his term. This is because the Constitutional Court (MK) has decided that the Cooperative Law Number 17 of 2012 concerning Cooperatives has been annulled.

“I will communicate with my friends in the DPR, Commission VI, and the Legislative Body to find a way to resolve this,” he explained.

In addition, the President requested the development of a number of bills. Both those in the discussion stage in the government and in the DPR.

“The President asked for immediate follow-up to complete all the backlogs in the remaining term of the current government,” he explained.

Supratman, who is also a politician from the Gerindra Party, was inaugurated by Jokowi on Monday (19/8/2024) replacing PDI Perjuangan minister Yasonna Laoly. (Bob/P-3)
