The Labor Appreciation Award, sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, signed a joint cooperation agreement with Aster Hospitals and Clinics. This step comes within the framework of the award management’s efforts to enhance primary health care services for the employment sector, and to consolidate Dubai’s reputation as the best city to live, work and health care. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai and Chairman of the Appreciation Award, and Dr. Sharbaaz Pecho, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the UAE, in the presence of Lt. Colonel Khalid Ismail, Secretary-General of the Award and a number of senior officials of both parties. This joint agreement will benefit tens of thousands of blue-collar workers holding a special discount card granted by the award administration to distinguished workers working in award-winning companies in the 4-5 star categories. Currently, more than 160,000 workers are benefiting from the card, working in four main economic sectors in Dubai, namely the contracting sector, factories, free zones, labor supply services, and mechanical services. More than 60 shops, institutions and companies participate in supporting this discount card, which provides a range of purchasing options, tools and devices, in addition to free scholarships, health care, and other services, allowing workers to save tens of millions of dirhams annually, in the form of special discounts granted to them by Card sponsors.
