In recent months, we have been bombarded with a series of news from layoffs massively promoted by Big Techs. Interestingly, at least of the group known as Big Five (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta e Microsoft), only Apple has escaped this nightmare.
But if you think it’s a matter of time before the Cupertino company also lays off employees in droves, (fortunately) that shouldn’t happen in the short or medium term. At least that’s what the CEO said.Chief executive officeror executive director.”>1 Tim Cook in an interview with CNBCin which he stated that Apple is not considering mass layoffs.
I see this as a last resort and therefore mass layoffs is not something we are talking regarding at this point.
Apple, it is worth noting, has been making very thoughtful decisions in the midst of the crisis. Unlike the others Big Techsthe company hired less during the pandemic — which likely helped it keep most employees in the current climate.
Although Apple has cut some management positions recently and fired 100 recruiters (most were temporary) last year, these numbers are nowhere near the layoffs promoted by competitors – which shows a more efficient crisis management by the company.
