PRESIDENT Joko Widodo assured investors that President-elect Prabowo Subianto has approved a budget to accelerate infrastructure development in the Indonesian capital city, East Kalimantan. Jokowi made the statement when groundbreaking (laying of the first stone) of the Bank Central Asia (BCA) building in the IKN.
“Regarding facilities, if BCA builds here, the road in front of the BCA office will be built by the government, not by investors. It is impossible for investors to build their own infrastructure, roads, electricity, and water will all be built by the government,” said Jokowi, Monday (12/8).
Until the end of 2024, the government will focus on development in the core government area. Meanwhile, for areas outside the government, infrastructure development will begin in January 2025.
“For the budget, this morning the president-elect Prabowo Subianto has approved the acceleration of infrastructure development in the Indonesian capital. So investors do not need to doubt the commitment of the next government,” said Jokowi.
Regarding investment, Jokowi said that there are 472 investors who have submitted and signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the IKN Authority (OIKN). Of that number, 220 investors were found to be serious and wanted to invest in the IKN Nusantara.
“Everything is still being selected, and currently if you invest in the Indonesian Capital City, the signing of the PKS (Cooperation Agreement) will be done quickly, and after that the BPN Ministry will issue the HGB in a maximum of 11 days. Very fast,” said Jokowi.

The President hopes that the 220 investors will be selected and immediately realize their investments in the IKN Nusantara. Although Indonesia is currently still prioritizing domestic investment, requests from foreign investors are also being considered.
“Once again, the priority is domestic investment first, then from abroad,” said Jokowi.
The government, said the President, appreciates the investment from BCA Tbk. If Bank BCA has dared to enter a region, according to him, this shows that investment in the IKN Nusantara is very profitable.
“Because usually BCA’s calculations and calculations, the calculator is no longer double, but 10 calculators are used, then they dare to invest, because BCA is a guarantee, there is no way BCA dares to invest if there is no profit to be obtained, I appreciate Mr. Jahja (BCA’s President Director) for this investment,” said Jokowi.
