A gang of 100 thieves broke into a convenience store in downtown Los Angeles, USA, and the police launched an investigation.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department on the 19th (local time), regarding 100 people stole sweets, drinks, cigarettes and lottery tickets from a 7-Eleven convenience store near Figueroa Street around 12:40 am on the 15th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They also broke down convenience stores and threw things at each other.

Local police are investigating the incident as they believe they were flash mobs near convenience stores. A flash mob is an unspecified mass of people who gather at a meeting place, perform a specific action for a short period of time, and then disperse in an instant. Some foreign media reported that people who broke into the convenience store occupied the surrounding streets just before the crime and performed a flash mob.

Some are raising concerns regarding ‘People’s Proposition 47’, which aims to lower the level of punishment for offenders who commit property crimes. Proposition 47, passed in California in 2014, makes it a felony if the value of an item stolen from a supermarket or other store is $950 or more.

Police said, “We are analyzing CCTV in convenience stores to identify and arrest looters. They will be charged with theft, looting, and vandalism,” said the police. “People around us might be the culprit. do,” he said.
