As an elected official from the opposition, Ahmed El Khannouss has contested Sylvie Lahy’s candidacy from the start. He readily points out that the person concerned was once dismissed by the municipality from her position as director of Prevention. He considers it too close to municipal power. Sylvie Lahy has since taken legal action against the elected representative of Molenbeek Autre.
Through the voice of her lawyer, Marc Uyttendaele, the municipal secretary candidate takes a further step. In a letter sent to the municipality, Marc Uyttendaele believes that Ahmed El Khannouss no longer has “neither objective impartiality nor subjective impartiality to sit in this matter.” He therefore intends to deprive him of his right to vote, this evening, during the municipal council meeting.
Ahmed El Khannouss did not fail to react to this letter: “once again we are using methods to intimidate the municipal council and intimidate me to ensure that Catherine Moureaux’s protégé can pass. This is simply unacceptable. What is happening today is unprecedented . (…) It is out of the question that we give in to this diktat”, included Ahmed El Khannouss.
