Following Vincent’s elimination on Thursday at Masterchef Quebec, viewers rushed to the gurneys and cried foul.
Internet users claim that Fadwa, who faced cowboy Vincent during the last challenge, did not peel his shrimp properly, an unacceptable error in their eyes.
Seeing that this story was taking on disproportionate proportions (see what proportions we are talking regarding here), the main person concerned spoke out on her social networks to rectify the facts.
« My shrimp were well cleaned, deveined and when you devein a shrimp you open it along its back and this makes it easy to pick up with a fork.
In the video we can clearly see Martin take the shrimp easily with his fork.
Now why clean the shrimp but keep the shell open, two reasons:
1- I marinated the shrimp so the shell helps keep the marinade while cooking
2- When you cook the shrimp with the shells, it adds the taste of the seafood broth to the sauce
These techniques and ways of treating shrimp already exist, I didn’t invent anything, I was an island’s distance from Martin and Stefano and I heard their comments, I might have removed the shells in 2 minutes , but I was sure of my dish and my techniques, it’s not an oversight or inattention it’s intentional and Stefano himself confirmed having eaten them the same way in Indian restaurants.
I hope I have shed some light on the situation. Now please stop arguing 🥹😭
Love you all ❤️ »
