Sirsa. The controversy surrounding the demise of Dera Jagmalwali’s Saint Bahadur Chand Waqeel Sahib is deepening. On Tuesday, under the leadership of Amar Singh Bishnoi and Karan Bishnoi, the Sangat met SDM Suresh Ravi and demanded a fair investigation. They stated that the saint did not leave any testament and that he was murdered under a conspiracy. They mentioned that thousands of followers have written to the Prime Minister demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter.
The SDM has requested the Sangat to fill out bonds for the peaceful conduct of the Bhog ceremony of Saint Waqeel Sahib scheduled for August 8. Both the police and administration are on alert for the final Ardas and are working to ensure peace.
Dera supporters Amar Singh Bishnoi and Karan Bishnoi from Asakheda stated that the claim made by Virender Singh to the gaddi (throne) of the Dera is incorrect. When Saint Waqeel Sahib was ill, the Sangat was not allowed to meet him. The people of the Dera wanted to know about Saint Waqeel Sahib’s health. They said that Virender Singh Dhillon came from Jind in 1994, and when he returned in 1998, Maharaj Ji sent him back home in 2010. They also mentioned that last year when Maharaj Ji was ill, AIIMS reported that Maharaj would live for another 15-20 years. During that time, a couple of trustees gave temporary wills for an operation.
The property is worth approximately ₹12,000 crores. They alleged that at that time Dhillon had demanded the gaddi. The saint was forcibly compelled to leave the gaddi. In the last satsang, Maharaj Ji said that the truth will soon be revealed. They asserted that this was not a death but a murder. They claimed that there is a conspiracy involving Virender Singh Dhillon and some other individuals. They stated that due to Dhillon’s questionable character, no one should receive the gaddi now; they could only manage by worshiping Maharaj Ji’s shoes. They demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
They said that thousands of followers from Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have written to the Prime Minister demanding a CBI investigation into this matter. If Virender Singh Dhillon is truthful, he should allow an inquiry. If he is proven to be honest, the followers of Dera will not hesitate to give him the gaddi. We are working peacefully and will not resort to any disputes.
