Controversy over candidate selection: BJP workers surrounded and beat Union Minister in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Clash at the BJP divisional office in Jabalpur following the announcement of BJP’s fifth phase candidate list for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

The dispute was over the candidature for the North Central Assembly seat. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and security forces were beaten up following the dispute. The protest was alleging that the grassroots leaders were ignored. Enraged by the candidate selection, activists surrounded the BJP office and created ruckus inside.

The protest came following the former state president of the Yuva Morcha, Abhilash Pandey, was nominated by the BJP. Activists in the North Central region took to the streets in anger, alleging that grassroots leaders were neglected.

The fifth phase list of BJP candidates for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections was released on Saturday. Out of this, the names of 96 candidates were accepted. After the release of the list, BJP’s slum war has also come out.

Enraged by the nomination of Abhilash Pandey as the candidate for the Jabalpur North Central Assembly constituency, activists took to the streets and raised slogans in front of the BJP’s divisional office in Jabalpur.

Then he staged a protest in front of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav demanding the resignation of state BJP President BD Sharma. Following this, the activists shouted slogans for a long time. The leaders tried their best to pacify the angry workers but to no avail.

Enraged by the selection of candidates, the activists surrounded, pushed and beat Union Minister and state election in-charge Bhupendra Yadav. Meanwhile, the minister’s security forces tried to remove the activists and the situation spiraled out of control.

Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 17. It is in this situation that the BJP has released the fifth list of 92 candidates in 228 of the total 230 seats and the tickets of three ministers and 29 MLAs have been cut in the fifth list.
