Five days ago a strong controversy began in Chilevisionafter the same workers in the Press Department and the morning news program Contigo en la Mañana categorically distanced themselves from Paramount’s position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

“Paramount Global condemns the terrorist attacks by Hamas. We stand with the Israelis and the entire Jewish community. We are with all the innocent lives affected. We are with the children who deserve to be children. “We are united against all acts of terror and hatred,” the channel’s statement said.

Thus the workers responded and stated that “we agree to condemn the murder of innocent civilians by Hamas and the kidnapping of people, but that does not prevent us from also explicitly condemning the excesses committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.”

The channel came out to calm things down

The vice president and executive director of ChilevisionJuan Ignacio Iñaki Vicente, sent a statement to the workers – to which he had access The fourth– in which he indicates that “I want to assure you that we condemn all acts of violence, without discrimination. We stand in solidarity with all civilian victims and with all those who are suffering, both in Gaza and in Israel.”

“We value the concern of our workers regarding the editorial independence of Chilevisión and we want them to know that we listen to them. “I can assure you that the great work carried out by the CHV Noticias, Contigo en la Mañana and Contigo en Directo teams in covering the conflict meets strict editorial standards that guarantee the equity, independence and impartiality that defines us,” he swore.
