Controversies of Mauricio Navarro de Bedout, new president of Atlético Nacional | Macnelly and Muleteer | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

This Friday the information regarding Atlético Nacional was shaken once more, which since becoming champion of the BetPlay I-2022 League, has had inconveniences and controversies due to the departure of Giovanni Moreno and the movements that have been presented in its leadership and administrative part.

Thus, the purslane world experienced the change of presidency: Emilio Gutiérrez left and Mauricio Navarro de Bedout was appointed, who will assume from September 1 as the main head of the Antioquia club.

Nacional explained that Navarro de Bedout “has been linked as a sports director since 2009. He has participated in key processes in the institution such as the youth soccer academies (…) Since 2016 he has been part of the Board of Directors of Nacional as a main member.”

However, the fans of Atlético Nacional recalled a controversy that the leader has, since it was he who was in charge of removing one of the last great idols of the club, in the words of the same affected former soccer player.

Macnelly Torres left Nacional in 2018, and said that it was Navarro de Bedout who told him to look for a team that would give money to facilitate his departure on loans. The Barranquilla’s statements caused great controversy and marked the name of Mauricio Navarro in the memory of the hurt purslane fans.

Another problem with which Mauricio Navarro reaches the presidency was his possible act of confrontation with the Junior coach Juan Cruz Real, in the match in which Nacional was eliminated at the hands of the Barranquilla team at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.

In resolution 053 of the Dimayor Disciplinary Committee, it was made clear that the leader entered into an investigation into the incident, and the respective investigation is being carried out. If punished, the sanction might carry a fine of up to 100 million pesos.

Finally, the name of Mauricio Navarro is linked to a reprehensible fact that Giovanni Moreno brought to light before his contract was not renewed, referring to the treatment they had with Hernán Darío Herrera, technical director of the professional team.

The same ‘Arriero’ Herrera explained: “When Gio says that they sent me to walk to Botero Square, it’s because I made a complaint to a person from Nacional. He told me that, if he didn’t like it that way, there are a lot of people walking around Plaza de Botero. I did not know that this person is now the champion with Nacional now, so, let’s keep walking through the Botero square. It was a great pain when I heard that phrase, but well, these are things that happen to one, to move on”.

In the Nacional environment and on social networks, it is speculated that it was precisely the leader Navarro de Bedout, who was the one who treated coach Herrera that way, a version that has not been confirmed and that is part of the word of mouth in the capital of Antioquia
