Controversial Traffic Violation in Riyadh: Yemeni Resident and Citizen Arrested for Public Morals Violation

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists circulated on social media a video clip showing two people stopping traffic on a public road in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and violating public morals, which sparked a reaction.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior reposted the camouflaged video clip on its Snapchat page.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement: “The Riyadh Region Police arrested a resident of Yemeni nationality and a citizen for stopping their vehicles on a public road, obstructing traffic and violating public morals, endangering the lives of others and documenting this.”

The Interior Ministry continued in its statement that the two individuals were arrested, legal measures were taken once morest them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
