Controversial judges in the resolutions of the case

According to the investigation by Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI), the judge who issued the final ruling on Claudia Sheinbaum’s Tlalpan house, José Guadalupe Mejía Galán, has been accused of alleged cases of corruption and favoritism.

In 2014, it was in controversy by issuing resolutions that ignored the jurisdiction of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Ifetel) in matters of content retransmission, in a lawsuit between Televisa and Dish, in contempt of the constitutional reform in matters of radio broadcasting and telecommunications.

A report carried out in 2014 by Reforma reported that since 2011 different resolutions had been given that showed the judge’s predisposition to benefit Televisa in lawsuits once morest Dish, the MVS pay television company, which was accused of having agreements with América Móvil, Carlos Slim Helú.

Dish even released a statement in which it regretted that Judge Mejía Galán had served as “a troupe” for Televisa.

In October 2017, residents of a building located on Durango Street in the Roma neighborhood denounced corruption by the same judge Mejía Galán for ordering the demolition of a building that had no structural damage, supposedly for the benefit of a construction company that—according to the complainants— He intended to take over the property.

After Judge Mejía Galán’s ruling that the Tlalpan property be deeded in the name of Ímaz, the bank that served as trustee in the trust appealed the ruling. And it was in June 2019 when the seventh civil chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City confirmed the resolution.

One of the judges who resolved the challenge, Petra Quezada Guzmán, has been investigated for alleged trafficking of files and is linked to Morena, a party in which she has collaborated as an advisor.

While Yaopol Pérez Amaya Jiménez, who served as a magistrate by “ministry of law” or interim in the room that resolved the case that benefited Ímaz, was formally promoted to magistrate as of March 31, 2021, through an opposition competition. .

The robe was imposed on him as a magistrate in a ceremony in which Claudia Sheinbaum herself was present as head of Government of CDMX, and in which the attendance of Judge Mejía Galván as a magistrate by ministry of law is noted, according to the minutes thereof.
