Historic presenter of the British television channel, Huw Edwards is accused by a mother of having paid her child to send him pornographic photos.
His identity has been revealed. For several days, the British channel of the BBC has been in turmoil after the accusations of a mother against a star presenter who allegedly paid a young person, a minor at the start of the facts, to send him pornographic photos.
This early Wednesday evening, the wife of Huw Edwards, a star BBC presenter who notably announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II, confirmed that the charges were indeed aimed at her husband.
“I make this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after five extremely difficult days for our family,” his wife Vicky Flind wrote in a statement to the PA agency. “Once he is in a condition to do so, he intends to respond to the articles that have been published,” said Vicky Flind, indicating that he was made aware of the charges on Thursday.
An open secret
The BBC has been in turmoil since the tabloid The Sun wrote on Friday that a star BBC presenter had paid 35,000 pounds for an underage person in exchange for a pornographic photo. Other accusations of threatening or abusive behavior have been made in recent days.
The identity of the presenter targeted was increasingly an open secret, the name of Huw Edwards circulating massively on social networks.

For its part, the London police indicated on Wednesday evening that no criminal offense appeared to have been committed in the context of this case which has been in the headlines for five days.
“In reaching this decision, (the officers) spoke to a number of parties, including the BBC, the alleged complainant and his family,” London police said in a statement. “There is no further action from the police.”
