JONATAN Christie contributed one point for Indonesia when he beat Li Shi Feng with a score of 21-16, 15-21 and 21-17 at the Hi Tech Zone Sports Center, Chengdu on Sunday (5/5).

Due to this victory, the score between Indonesia and China became 1-2. Jojo, as Jonatan Christie is known, said that competing when he was 0-2 down was not easy for him.

“Praise God because being 0-2 behind is not easy. I remember the Thomas Cup moment two years ago, in the same position but I don’t want to be the winner once more,” said Jojo in his statement.

Through this victory, continued Jojo, he wanted to revive the enthusiasm of other colleagues on the team. Especially for Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

“I want to raise the enthusiasm of my friends, so I hope that Bagas/Fikri’s enthusiasm can double once more, hopefully they can take points. Chico is the same,” he said.

Jojo explained that the enemy appeared with high motivation to end the match with a win for China. However, he did not let go of the deciding match.

“I tried to fight this for the sake of the pride of my nation. That is my fuel today,” he said. (Ndf/Z-7)
