[이데일리 스타in 이석무 기자] The Road FC match between Kwon A-sol (36) and Nakamura Koji (37, Japan), which failed to weigh in by over 5 kg of the contract weight, was held after many twists and turns.
On the 17th, at the Goobne ROAD FC 062 weigh-in event held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Hongeun-dong, Kwon A-sol appeared to be having a hard time even getting on the scale. He recorded 78kg, 5kg over in the 73kg contract weight match, and failed to pass the weigh-in.
As a condition of the match contract, Nakamura bet that if Kwon A-sol fails to pass the weigh-in, he will not play and give 50% of Kwon A-sol’s fight money to himself. According to the contract, it was unclear whether the game would proceed.
Despite the fact that the match was not required, Nakamura informed Road FC President Chung Moon-hong of his intention to proceed with the match. He was rather concerned about Kwon Ah-sol’s health.
Nakamura said, “(Kwon Ah-sol’s) weigh-in was over and the match could end, but I thought a lot about it.”
In response to Nakamura’s words, Chairman Chung Moon-hong dissuaded him, saying, “I am very grateful and grateful for the game, but there is no need to force it.” Nonetheless, Nakamura hoped the game would go ahead. Kwon A-sol said through Road FC, “I am only sorry for failing to pass the weigh-in. Thank you for accepting the game,” he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I will try to recover as much as possible tomorrow.”
In response to Kwon Ah-sol’s words, Nakamura replied, “I hope Kwon Ah-sol recovers as much as possible tomorrow and comes out in good condition.”
