For a long time there was a big question mark over Serge Gnabry’s sporting future at Bayern Munich. Recently, however, reports have been circulating that the Bayern bosses are quite optimistic regarding contract extensions. As the “kicker” reports, the DFB star might extend his expiring contract in Munich in the near future.
Several English media outlets revealed this week that Chelsea would be looking closely at Serge Gnabry. As the “kicker” reporter Georg Holzner reports, there was even a specific request from the winger. However, Gnabry refused. Reason: The contract extension at Bayern is a clear priority for the German international.
Talks with Bayern are positive
❗️ Chelsea FC has at #Gnabry requested. But for the national player @FC Bayern Priority. Talks with FCB are going well. The grandstand threat was put into perspective. Now there are many indications of a contract extension in the foreseeable future. @kicker

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic recently announced that they would like to intensify talks with Gnabry once more in the near future and at the same time emphasized that they definitely want to keep the offensive all-rounder. It seems as if the 45-year-old is now following his words for days.
According to Holzner, Bayern have once more contacted the player side. Accordingly, the contract talks between the club and the player are positive. While it was still completely unclear a few weeks ago whether and how Gnabry would continue with the German record champions, there are now many indications that the contract will be extended in the foreseeable future, as the “kicker” claims to have found out.
Gnabry’s whereregardings would be an important sign for Bayern, especially in view of the imminent departure of Robert Lewandowski. Gnabry is viewed internally by FCB as a potential successor, at least until Bayern have found a new centre-forward.
