The announcement of the municipal faction “Spiral” states:
There are now daily visits to the “Kostis Palamas” House of Letters, both by individual visitors and, mainly, by clubs, unions and schools that come for the Olympic Torch Relay Exhibition organized by the municipal spiral faction. The extension of the exhibition entitled “The flame of the beautiful, the great and the true, in Patras by Kostis Palamas and Koulas Pratsikas” gave the opportunity to many Patrons and tourists to take a guided tour of it in recent weeks.
The organizers, the collectors who have donated rare material and the volunteers of the spiral have guided many official guests even from other countries, as well as people from sports and culture. The exhibition was honored, among others, with the presence of the poets who participated in the Patras Poetry Festival, members of the Greek Guides Corps, many schools of Patras (7th High School, 2nd High School, Model High School, 20th High School, Maragopouleio Elementary School of Vrachneikos, Arsakeio Elementary School, 1st General High School, 21st High School, Kastritsiou High School etc.). In the coming days, visits are also expected from special schools in the city (Primary School for the Hard of Hearing and Deaf) and schools outside of Patras (from Nea Manolada, Aegira, etc.).
A special visit was also made by the famous Australian Jim Claven, historian and author, as part of his trip to the wider region, and Vicky Kyritsis, Secretary of the Greek Community of Melbourne. They both stated that they were impressed by the exhibits and the overall narrative of the exhibition, congratulated the spiral for the initiative and implementation and wrote their flattering words in the guest book. In fact, both of them committed to convey to Australia their impressions from their trip to Patras, considering the visit to the “Palamas House” a top experience.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until 31 October 2024 (opening hours: Tuesday 6-9pm, Thursday 6-9pm, Saturday 11am-1pm), while a closing event with dignitaries related to the Olympic Games and the Olympic Torch Relay. It will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024, in the co-organization of the Region of Western Greece, the “Kosti Palamas” House of Letters and the municipal group “Spiral”.
