Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte has described the news linking him to coach Paris Saint-Germain as “false”.
And the British news agency “BA Media” reported that press reports spread in France and Italy earlier this week indicating that Conte wanted to be a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino in coaching the French team.
Conte, who has 12 months left on his contract with Tottenham, has always refused to sign a long-term contract with Tottenham, but he stressed that the latest news is incorrect.
He said: “Obviously, I think it’s a good thing that my work is being appreciated by other clubs. That’s one thing. But the truth is that I don’t like inventing news, just to talk, or to create problems.”
“It is not true, it is not fair to me, to the participating clubs and to the players,” he added.
And he added: “Also because we were so focused on the five matches to achieve amazing results. I repeat, this kind of situation makes me smile.”
“But I also think that people who want to say something regarding this should show some respect to the people involved in this situation, and not invent fake news and say a lot of false things,” he added.
He stressed, “In such a situation, those who work in football, players or coaches, know very well that at this time of the season, many fake news comes out.”
