Contactless, a new form of payments for Venezuela

Inteligensa, one of the leading companies in the production of plastic chip cards worldwide. With Venezuelan headquarters, capital and talent, it presented in Caracas this Thursday its new project to be developed in the country: Contactless, hand in hand with Master Card and Multos.

Contactless is a business idea that is already being developed in a large part of the countries of the world, and with which they hope to solve many inconveniences for Venezuelan banking users, especially in the waiting time and security when passing a card through a point of sale.

Under a magnetic recognition system, Contactlees cards will have a microchip incorporated in one of their sides, which can be easily recognized by a point of sale, developed for this purpose, and automatically charge the account, without waiting for customer data, much less by entering the password.

The duality that combines the proximity payment system with the conventional microchip is due, in the first instance, to the regulation that exists in Venezuela for the development and functionality of the same, and second to the fact that “the card is still the queen, and the point the King”, assured, Venanzio Cipolliti, president of Inteligensea.

Master Card and the chip manufacturer for Multos cards also participate in the project, who are working together with Inteligensa to educate banks and businesses about the great advantages that this type of card has not only for users, but for themselves.
In addition to this magnetic recognition contact, the cards will also have the usual chip, with which they can be used by conventional points of sale, until all businesses and entities adapt to this new modality, which is already widely used in Europe, Asia, and several countries in America.
Venezuela has always been one of the countries that most uses the consumption of products paid for through points of sale, which is why it has become a priority for these three companies in launching this methodology of payment, nationwide.

To date, there are already some banking entities that are beginning to make the transition to Contactless, a tool that will surely bring great change and improvement to our country.
