Former national team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has confirmed that he is in touch with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a key post in domestic cricket and is likely to replace Misbah-ul-Haq as chief selector.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has planned to remove Misbah-ul-Haq from the post of chief selector and Shoaib Akhtar’s name has been considered for the post.
Shoaib Akhtar while talking to YouTube channel ‘Cricket Baaz’ said that I will not deny it, I have been consulted with the board and I am interested in playing an important role in Pakistan cricket but nothing has been decided yet.
The PCB is seriously considering the decision to release Misbah from the dual role and one of the main reasons for this is the board’s new code of conduct and hence Shoaib Akhtar’s replacement for the post of Chief Selector. The name is in circulation.
“I have lived a very contented life, I played cricket on my own terms but now I am fully settled, I am now ready to leave this contented life and take this risk for PCB,” he said. Willing to take it, if given the chance I will give it time.
However, the former fast bowler refused to divulge the details of the conversation with the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
He said that it is true that some discussions have definitely taken place, but I cannot say more than that because nothing is final yet, but the discussions are ongoing, at present neither I nor they know where Yes is.
Shoaib, who won the title of fastest bowler, said that if he accepts the job of chief selector, he will be the first player to grow out of the job and no one knows this better than him.

Shoaib said that the main motivation for him in this job is to create a pool of players who can serve Pakistan cricket aggressively for a long time.
The former fast bowler popularly known as Rawalpindi Express said that if he is given this job, he would like to produce match winners like Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad who are brands in themselves. Like great players like Miandad, Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Muhammad.
He said that the problem of the current Pakistan cricket team is that it is afraid of losing and the players feel insecure.
Shoaib Akhtar said that this mindset needs to be changed and if he had been with the team, we would have never lost this match after England bowled out five players for 117 runs, aggression is needed in international cricket. is
