The General Consulate of Spain in Havana has informed regarding the modification of its opening hours at the “General Affairs window”.
As communicated via Twitteras of Monday, June 5, the General Affairs window will serve the public at the following times:
- From Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The diplomatic headquarters continues to receive claims for appointments for access to Spanish nationality under the Democratic Memory Law (LMD).
“Please, solve the delivery of appointments for the LMD. Impossible to make appointments. Credentials expire. Email appointments,” one user tweeted.
Another person wrote in the profile of the Consulate: “this is resembling to me the legend of The twelve labors of Heracles. It seems that the closer you get, the harder they make it, sort of like the difficulty increases every time you level up in a video game. What should be done is simple: appointment by mail”.
In the middle of the month, a processor contacted our page claiming that the Spanish consular section decided to set appointments for this procedure “from Monday to Thursday, but at undetermined times.”
APPOINTMENTS AT THE CONSULATE OF SPAIN IN HAVANA
“Now you have to be checking the opening of the system all the time and hunt at random when there are appointments available (…) those who have knowledge of what time and date they are going to open it, take advantage of the situation,” exposed.
Several Cubans complained in the Consulate’s publication regarding this reality. “There are no hours available. In order to guarantee the quality of the service, this system will show the available appointments from Monday to Thursday at indeterminate hours”, warns a sign when you try to access the appointment schedule.
Other dissatisfactions are related to the expiration of the credentials, the impossibility of accessing them and the appointments on the page to request birth certificates.
