Merdeka.com – Ukrainian Honorary Consul for Bali, I Nyoman Astama responded to the case of Ukrainian citizen (WN) Rodion Krynin (37) who was named a suspect because he had an Indonesian e-KTP in the name of Alexander Nur Rudi.
Astama said that this actually did not have to happen because foreigners in Bali had been provided with a Permanent Stay Permit Card (Kitap) and Limited Stay Visa (Kitas).
“That’s actually inappropriate. Foreign citizens cannot have an ID card, but identification as residents in Indonesia for foreign citizens has the names Kitap and Kitas. Those are temporary residence permits,” said Astama when contacted, Friday (17/3).
The Honorary Consul of Ukraine said he did not know regarding Rodion Krynin being able to have an e-KTP. He considered that there was involvement of other parties who played a role so that foreigners might have Indonesian KTPs.
“In fact, this can happen if there is a second party that allows it to happen, namely officers who have access to make KTPs. I think this is something that Ukrainians and foreigners can do, especially foreigners who don’t understand. If there is something like this, there are unscrupulous officials. which shouldn’t be true either. I think this is something that needs to be (regulated) in the future, with law enforcement by the government and authorities so that something like this doesn’t happen once more,” he said.
“This is a very embarrassing thing because how come foreigners can have KTPs. Meanwhile, they already have facilities to have residence permits, namely Kitas and Kitap, which already have KTPs for foreigners,” he continued.
He also said that his party would also provide assistance to Rodion Krynin in the case of Indonesian KTP ownership.
“We also visit and are ready to assist the residents and according to the requests of the residents and according to our function. And there is also a request from our apparatus ready to assist him,” he said.
“If (the request for) a lawyer is the right of the citizens. If he asks, we will definitely help find him, but the Indonesian government will also provide a lawyer, depending on the person concerned,” he said.
As reported, Bali Police Rodion Krynin is a suspect because he has an Indonesian citizen’s KTP in the name of Alexander Nur Rudi.
This Caucasian was arrested for falsifying documents to make fake KTPs, and is currently being held at the Bali Police Detention Center.
The foreigner is considered to have violated Article 263 Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code concerning the use of forged letters and carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison.
