Asuncion, IP Agency.- The works for the new Alto Paraná Nephrology Center, on the premises of the Hernandarias District Hospital, are 54 percent complete. This project, financed by Itaipu Binacional, not only represents progress in medical infrastructure, but also a leap in the quality of life of people suffering from kidney diseases in the region, the Ministry of Health highlighted.
More than a building, this center will be a space of hope for patients who have endured long distances and long waits to receive critical treatments, the Ministry of Health said.
The centre will have specialised areas for dialysis of chronic patients and those with infectious diseases, with a total of 15 treatment chairs and 3 recovery beds.
This will allow for the care of 45 patients a day in a dignified environment equipped with cutting-edge technology. The inclusion of a reverse osmosis water treatment plant and a medical gas distribution system ensures that each patient receives care under the safest and most reliable conditions.
The goal is to relieve the congestion of other complexes for the treatment of kidney problems in Alto Paraná and strengthen this health sector with a modern center equipped with cutting-edge tools in the tenth department of the country, explained Julio Paredes, executive coordination director of Itaipu Binacional.
This investment is in line with the Paraguayan Government’s public policies to guarantee equal access to health.
