Asunción, IP Agency.- The construction of the bridge over the Monday River, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) in the east of the country, is in full execution and with sustained progress, fulfilling several items on both banks of the river.
According to the MOPC report, the tasks are focused on excavations for the foundations, drilling in rocks for future clearings and creating platforms in the domain strip for the collection of materials and machinery. An important milestone is the start of the first concrete loads for the supports in abutment one.
This strategic work is part of the Eastern Metropolitan Corridor (CMDE), designed to enhance the functionality of the Paraguay-Brazil Integration bridge, connecting Presidente Franco with Los Cedrales, in Alto Paraná.
The new walkway will be 500 linear meters and 26.5 meters wide. It will have four lanes and a pedestrian crossing protected by a one-meter Type F railing and metal anti-suicide barriers.
The Monday Consortium, made up of Constructora Heisecke SA and Construpar SA, has the mission of carrying out this work under the supervision of the JYI Consortium, within a period of 18 months.
This project promises to strengthen the region’s road infrastructure, improving connectivity and stimulating local economic development.
