And traffic jam chaos greets us almost every day: after a quieter morning, there are further delays on the A10 Tauernautobahn.
Due to the ongoing construction site where tunnels on the A10 are being renovated, there are always severe traffic disruptions. On Saturday around lunchtime there was a seven-kilometer-long traffic jam in the direction of Salzburg between Hüttau and Golling. Road users currently have to expect a delay of one and a half hours; there is block clearance in front of the construction site area.
In the direction of Villach there is currently a traffic jam from Kuchl. There is about half an hour of lost time here.
Last weekend, however, drivers had to plan for significantly more time. There were sometimes delays of up to four hours before the tunnel construction sites. A similar scenario was expected this weekend. The ÖAMTC reported that return traffic has now decreased significantly.
Greens raise questions about traffic jam chaos
The Greens also want to know why the traffic jam has reached such proportions. The Green transport spokesman Simon Heilig-Hofbauer therefore submitted an urgent request to transport officer Stefan Schnöll on Friday. Specifically, he wants to know what the analysis by an ASFINAG working group with the participation of the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund and the state of Salzburg revealed in advance of the construction work. Heilig-Hofbauer calls for quick measures and relief.
