Asunción, IP Agency.- The execution of the works of the Hospital del Sur, in the department of Itapúa, is 75% complete and will soon be ready to offer top quality health services.
This is one of the strongest bets of the National Government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, to improve access to public health in this area of the country.
The building is located in a space of 40,000 square meters, it is 5.6 times larger than the Defensores del Chaco Stadium and is located at Km 1.5 of the Sarita neighborhood of the city of Encarnación, 1.5 km from the PYO6 Route.
It will have 6 Intensive Care Units, separate for adults and children; with emergency services specialized in maternal and child areas, surgery, trauma and comprehensive care in all medical specialties.
It will also have a heliport for transfers in emergency cases; ample parking and recreation areas.
The work also includes additional facilities such as an effluent treatment plant and an oxygen generating plant, among others.
In addition to the hospital infrastructure, the project also foresees improvements in road access to the healthcare center.
The company in charge, with an investment of G. 209,994,116,609, is the Southern Hospital Consortium, made up of Sociedad Constructora Chaco SA (Barrail Hermanos SA de Construcciones, EISA and Ricardo Díaz Martínez.
The estimated time for completion of the works is 24 months. The start order was given on June 1, 2022, so it should be concluding no later than June of this year.
