Construction of the Grand Hospital of Coronel Oviedo is about to be completed

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The long-awaited Gran Hospital de Coronel Oviedo, in the department of Caaguazú, has reached 96.69% progress in its construction and is entering its final stage, marking a milestone in the decentralization of the Paraguayan health system.

The project, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, promises to revolutionize health care in the region, benefiting more than 600,000 residents of Caaguazú and surrounding areas.

With an investment of G. 151,247 million, the hospital complex will cover an area of 20,000 square meters and currently, work is focused on the final details, predicting an early inauguration.

Its most notable features include a large parking lot with capacity for nearly 1,000 vehicles and a modern helipad to facilitate access and emergency evacuations.

The new healthcare centre is designed as a highly complex specialist hospital, offering outpatient and inpatient services. Its infrastructure will include critical care units, as well as diagnostic support services and advanced treatments, in line with its problem-solving capacity.

The execution of this mega project is in charge of a consortium made up of renowned companies in the construction sector: Jiménez Gaona y Lima SA, Itasa, Proel Ingeniería and MMSA

Modern infrastructure for all

This project not only promises to significantly improve the quality of life of the people of Caaguazú, but also marks an important step in the decentralization of health services, traditionally concentrated in Asunción and the Central department.

With the completion of the Gran Hospital de Coronel Oviedo, the region is preparing for a new era in medical care, bringing specialized services to a population that has historically been neglected in terms of highly complex health, the Ministry of Public Works reported.
