It took almost six years before legal certainty might be established for the B17 east bypass Wiener Neustadt. Several citizens’ initiatives had fought once morest the project, partly because the road, which was almost five kilometers long, would damage the environment and attract additional traffic.
Provincial Councilor Ludwig Schleritzko (ÖVP) announced in a broadcast on Monday that “the environmental compatibility had been confirmed and all procedures had been completed positively”. The Administrative Court rejected the last appeal that was still open. The Lower Austrian road service has already started the basic redemption talks, but is not yet being built.
Construction is expected to start in early 2024
