Construction Chamber affirms that the agreement on Itaipu will boost the development of the country

Assumption, IP Agency.– The Paraguayan Chamber of Construction (Capaco) highlighted the historic agreement reached by Paraguay with Brazil, regarding the operation of Itaipu for the coming years, stating that the benefits obtained project “a hopeful future for the progress of our country.”

“We see a hopeful future for the progress of our country, since the agreement will translate into additional income that will be allocated in large part to the improvement of national infrastructure,” says a statement from the country’s construction companies union.

They consider that the investments announced by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, which includes construction of hospitals and strengthening of road and transportation infrastructure, among others, “will make it possible to reduce the currently existing gap and promote social and economic development, uniting communities, generating massive employment, promoting access to health and education, and at the end of the day, improving the quality of life of thousands of Paraguayans.

“We celebrate the sense of duty with which the negotiations were approached by the National Government, which is undoubtedly a clear example of the patriotism that must govern the Annex C review process,” the statement said.

Likewise, Capaco urges the Government to establish mechanisms that ensure transparency and efficient use of additional resources so that the dream of a better Paraguay finally knocks on the doors of each of the Paraguayan homes.
