Red Bull racing TECHNICIAN Gianpiero Lambiase revealed that the consistency of his colleague, Max Verstappen, was the main asset in becoming Formula 1 world champion four times in a row.
“This year shows many similarities with (Verstappen’s performance) in 2021. The battle (this season) is very fierce,” said Lambiase on the Formula 1 website, Wednesday (27/11).
Verstappen defended his world title this year after finishing fifth at the Las Vegas GP last week, which was enough for him to lock up the world title. His main competitor, McLaren racer Lando Norris, only finished sixth.

“The foundation we had at the start of the year strengthened everything, but he has taken a long step which for you must have been very difficult
trusted, starting from what he does on this team with all of us, and the respect he gives to other racers,” said Lambiase.
“He also fought hard in every race. I am very proud of him,” he continued.
Lambiase and Verstappen have worked together since the Dutch driver was promoted to Red Bull in 2016. That relationship will continue next year with Lambiase’s promotion to head of the racing division.
Red Bull Team Director Christian Horner appreciated Verstappen’s relationship with Lambiase as the basis for the Dutch racer’s success, especially in the 2024 season.
“They have tried hard and (Verstappen) could not have done it without the support he got in the garage, in the team, in the factory,” concluded Horner. (Ant/Z-1)

How has Max Verstappen’s driving style evolved, and has it played a role in his increased consistency?
## Interview with F1 Analyst
**Host:** Welcome back! We’re talking Formula 1 today, and with us is F1 Analyst, Emma Carter, to discuss some interesting comments from Red Bull Technician Gianpiero Lambiase. Emma, Lambiase recently stated that Max Verstappen’s consistency is what sets him apart and helped him achieve Formula 1 Championship status. What are your thoughts on that?
**Emma Carter:** Absolutely, I think Lambiase hit the nail on the head there. We’ve seen Verstappen consistently perform at a high level, race after race, and that’s been crucial to his success. It’s not just about raw speed, it’s about minimizing mistakes and delivering strong results week in, week out.
**Host:** Verstappen faced stiff competition this season. How did his consistency factor into winning?
**Emma Carter:** It was a game-changer. While other drivers might have had moments of brilliance, Verstappen was remarkably consistent, especially during crucial points in the season. He didn’t falter under pressure, always pushing for podium finishes and rarely dropping points. That level of consistency put him in a dominant position.
**Host:** And this level of consistency, is it something Verstappen has always had, or is it something he’s developed over time?
**Emma Carter:** A bit of both, I’d say. He’s always been a naturally talented driver, but he’s definitely matured strategically and honed his race craft. This season, he seems to have found that perfect balance between aggression and control.
**Host:** Fascinating insights, Emma. Thank you so much for joining us today and shedding light on this key aspect of Verstappen’s success.
