Recently, in the whole country, there have been a number of serious and especially serious traffic accidents related to passenger cars for transport business, typically a traffic accident on the road leading to the highway. Quang Ngai expressway on January 16 left 1 dead and 26 injured; traffic accident in Hoa Binh (at km 130+500, National Highway 6, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province) on January 18, causing 3 deaths and 2 injuries and a traffic accident on National Highway 1A section through Bac Phong commune, Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan province on January 18, killing 2 people and injuring 3 others.
These traffic accidents all occur in the night time frame, from 0am to 6am, when the driver may be tired, sleepy, and distracted.
In order to prevent and limit similar incidents from happening, and at the same time enhance traffic safety and order for passenger transport business by car, especially during the Lunar New Year and the Lunar New Year. Spring Festival 2023, National Traffic Safety Committee requested the Chairman of the People’s Committee cum Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of the provinces and centrally-run cities to direct relevant functional agencies, organizations and individuals to continue strictly implementing Official Dispatch No. 1174 /CD-TTg dated December 19, 2022 of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2023.
