After the fireworks display, present at the basa fish monument (Chau Doc city, An Giang province) witnessed the scene of eye pain because garbage “flooded” on the street.
After the fireworks display to welcome the old year to the new year, everyone joyfully congratulated each other on good things. But besides that, following the end of the fireworks display, the forest of people left, leaving behind all kinds of garbage.
Young men and women, children, and even some adults also litter indiscriminately. The habit of eating junk food is the source of waste. From plastic bags, bottles, cups of water, etc., are discarded right on the roadway. At the end of the fun, the street was littered with garbage, like a battlefield.
Mr. Nguyen Van Be Hai (living in Chau Doc city, An Giang province) said: “Each bottle of water, glass of water, plastic bag, etc. is left on the roadway. This shows that many people’s awareness is very poor and they do not have the habit of keeping the environment clean in public places. While children are conscious and ask their parents where to throw trash, adults casually throw garbage on the street. Adults are not exemplary, how can they teach children?
“After each event, around the basa fish tower in Chau Doc City is full of trash. Some people say that because it’s too crowded, it’s also difficult to find a place with a trash can. I don’t think so, that’s just It’s just an excuse,” said Mr. Tran Van Giau (living in Chau Phu district, An Giang province).
According to Mr. Giau, when he finished eating, he always kept garbage on hand. If they can’t find a trash can, they’ll keep it until they find a new one. Today, many people still have the habit of throwing it away.
After the end of the fireworks display and the flow of people going home, dozens of urban environmental workers had to work hard to quickly clean the streets.
Do Van Tra, an environmental sanitation worker (An Giang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company) said he has been doing this job for more than 16 years. On holidays, Tet, following the influx of people, urban environmental workers and sisters come in to clean the streets is a familiar job.
Similar to Mr. Tra, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1984, living in An Phu town, An Phu district, An Giang province) is an environmental worker of An Phu Urban Environment Enterprise (An Phu district, province). An Giang) – said: “During Tet, the amount of garbage is so much that workers have to work hard. Even the frequency of work has to be doubled or tripled compared to normal days. However, we all feel happy. for contributing to making the streets green, clean and beautiful”.
