Conquest Limit Removed and Spoils of War Enabled Next Week – World of Warcraft

As Kaivax stated in a post on the official forums just now, the Conquest limit will be lifted for Season 4 of Shadowlands, following feedback from the community. This change will be active next week. Find below the reasons why the developers hesitated on this subject.

First, the team understands the players highlighting the lack of cap for Valor this season, while Conquest has one. However, these two currencies do not serve exactly the same purposes. For example, there are no Valor vendors you can buy specific items from. While Conquest is used for acquiring specific items, Valor is used for upgrading items that are randomly dropped via the Grand Vault or Mythic+ dungeons.

Second, the developers know that once the Conquest cap is removed, many players will acquire a full gear set as quickly as possible, creating a significant power gap between them and characters arriving during the course. of the season. Typically, the team doesn’t remove the cap until a later date, when many players who have played all season have had the opportunity to acquire a full gear set. This keeps the environment competitive at the start of the season.

Finally, the Conquest cap serves to reduce gear acquisition at a rate comparable to other endgame items, raids, and Mythic+.

By lifting this limit early, developers know that some of the above issues may occur. But on the occasion of this last season, shorter and experimental, of Shadowlandsthe team wants to seize the opportunity to be flexible and responsive to feedback.

In addition to the removal of the Conquest cap, there are two additional PvP changes the devs want players to know regarding:

  • The Spoils of War buff will be re-enabled with next week’s reset, players taking part in Battlegrounds and Arenas will see their Conquest gains increased by 25% and Honor gains increased by 40%. This will remain active for the remainder of Season 4.
  • For the Solo Brew Shock, the minimum item level has been increased to 278 (was 252). This change is already active.
