Conor McGregor’s Loss to Michael Chandler and Challenges on The Ultimate Fighter – Analysis and Updates

The Conor McGregor-led side looked set to finally secure their first victory in the series of clashes of The Ultimate Fighter, but an unexpected turnover instead gave him a sixth loss in as many outings once morest Michael Chandler on Tuesday.

Kurt Holobaugh defeated Lee Hammond by second-round submission that resulted in a third Team Chandler fighter reaching the lightweight semifinals, while three others also earned their berth at bantamweight.

Only two fights remain for McGregor to avoid the shutout.

After losing the first round, Holobaugh once more found himself at a disadvantage on the ground, but he managed to regain the upper hand before landing the choke. He is looking to return to the UFC for a third time following making his debut there in 2013.

It didn’t seem to give McGregor any sense of humility though as he got into a verbal sparring match with Chandler in the center of the cage following the fight before shoving him around.

The two coaches are usually scheduled to face each other at the end of the season, which is the 31st, but sexual allegations once morest McGregor complicate matters, as does his adherence to USADA anti-doping protocol.

So far the seriousness of McGregor’s commitment as a mentor to TUF was questioned as he failed to show up for all of his fighters’ weigh-ins, in addition to having limited on-screen and practice visibility, something Chandler himself criticized him for.
