While waiting for the repechage which will take place on June 28 and 29, the various hopefuls are trying to continue to impress the various teams of the National Hockey League.
Even though most of these prospects have finished their respective season in their respective league, some are trying to show more through other leagues and other tournaments.
We can think among others of Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson and David Reinbacher (before getting injured) who accepted the invitation of their country to participate in the world championship which is currently taking place in Finland and Latvia.
However, not all prospects currently have the chance to show more to the various NHL teams.
There is, however, another top prospect for the next draft who received an invitation, but decided to refuse it, and it is none other than Connor Bedard.
Indeed, the future first overall pick of the 2023 draft is not currently in the world championship to represent Canada.
We can understand him considering that he has nothing more to prove and that would have been a risk of potential injury as well.
However, Bedard is not on vacation for all that.
Indeed, according to the latest news, the future member of the Chicago Blackhawks plays in a hockey league on roller skates.
Connor Bedard has 4G 4A in 2GP for Great Guys playing in the NSIHL (North Shore Inline Hockey League) in BC.
His teammate, #CBJ Kent Johnson has 1G 2A in 1 GP.

It’s still a very competitive league, but that doesn’t stop Bedard from completely dominating it.
In two games, the young generational talent has eight points (four goals and four assists).
Note that one of Bedard’s teammates in this league is Columbus Blue Jackets top prospect Kent Johnson (drafted 5th overall in 2021).
He has one goal and two assists in a single game.
Bedard and Johnson’s team is 0-2 following two games in the NSIHL.
In short, even if Bedard is not currently in the world championship like other hopes for the next repechage, that does not mean that he is rested.
He is keeping fit for the repechage by playing in a lower caliber.
I can’t wait to see him in action in the NHL next season.
