A Connecticut pastor has been arrested on allegations that he sold crystal methamphetamine from his church rectory, police said.

The reverend of the United Methodist Church in Woodbury was arrested after police received a drug tip, authorities said.

He was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia, among other accusations.

He was released on $10,000 bail and ordered to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on February 23.

State police said in a news release that the pastor had both solid and liquefied crystallized methamphetamine inserted into a hypodermic syringe.

He added that the pastor was arrested at the place where a drug transaction was going to take place, orchestrated by a cooperating witness who had informed the force, the Republican-American of Waterbury newspaper reported.
