Launch: Philips Medical Device Integration
Clinicians and hospital administrators have never had access to so much data, but at the same time, it has never been more difficult to turn it into meaningful clinical information. Sharing patient data between medical devices and information systems has enormous potential to drive ongoing care and better health outcomes, but it needs to be done transparently and, above all, securely, which is extremely difficult.
Philips Medical Device Integration
“At Philips, we believe that an interoperability-focused approach can transform healthcare delivery for everyone. Therefore, we will present to the market first-hand, during Connect Day 2024, Philips Medical Device Integration (MDI), which captures clinical data from various sources and in a neutral way – that is, regardless of supplier -, and from different environments. care, simplifying exchange and communication between systems”, explains Caroline. “In the year in which Philips Brasil turns 100 years old, this launch becomes even more special, because by making this solution viable we demonstrate our commitment to the care and health of millions of Brazilians, while at the same time mitigating some gaps that the health system faces: the high volume of fragmented data”, says the executive.
Philips Capsule Medical Device
Philips Capsule Medical Device Integration addresses interoperability gaps by simplifying complex workflows by connecting existing medical devices and hospital EMRs through a vendor-neutral system. The solution is designed to share relevant, context-rich information to any back-end system, including decision support, alarm management, documentation, search and reporting.
“I am very excited to be able to showcase this unique solution, which further unlocks the power of data to enhance patient monitoring and management, improve collaboration between care teams, streamline department routines and increase productivity,” concludes Caroline .
Spot AI Virtual Assistant
Research shows that healthcare professionals spend a large portion of their workday on administrative tasks, such as creating EMR documentation and reviewing charts, which ultimately reduces quality time with their patients. According to the Future Health Index 2023, a study carried out by Philips, currently, 31% of healthcare leaders in Brazil are investing in AI to optimize operational efficiency, including automating necessary documentation; scheduling patients, teams and tasks; and improve workflow.
Young healthcare professionals in Brazil share the same perspective as their leaders in pointing out that AI can improve their job satisfaction to predict outcomes (32%) and integrate diagnoses (31%).
Looking at this scenario, Philips developed the virtual assistant with Artificial Intelligence for its health management system, Tasy EMR. Tasy AI Virtual Assistant, powered by large language models, automatically extracts important data from unstructured clinical notes. Using the tool speeds up the charting and ordering process, saving doctors valuable time and improving the quality of care.
Furthermore, the AI Virtual Assistant allows the extraction of important data items that can eventually be used to speed up a patient’s discharge process, enabling doctors to further streamline the workflow. The use of the AI assistant within the Tasy application guarantees greater safety and responsibility in use, as the solution follows the highest standards of quality and patient safety by being the first and only regular EMR as a medical device by Anvisa in Brazil.
Immersive experience with Tasy AI Virtual Assistant, at Connect Day 2024
“During Connect Day 2024, our customers will have access to an immersive experience with the Tasy AI Virtual Assistant, designed to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery in Latin America. By simplifying administrative tasks and improving the EMR experience, we are empowering healthcare professionals to focus on what really matters: their patients. This marks a significant step in addressing the unique challenges in the region’s healthcare sector and reaffirms our commitment to generating positive outcomes for doctors and patients.”, explains Caroline.
