Acim (Commercial and Innovation Association of Marília-SP) is an entity that promoted a hybrid business event, in person and in the metaverse. In its 5th edition, Connect 2023 was held on August 24th and remains available online for access until November 30th.
According to the entity, visitors will be able to attend the lectures and interact within the metaverse environments until the deadline. To access, you need to download the application, available on the Metafuter website. Then, just choose the option to “teleport” to Connect.
The event featured speakers such as Camila Farani, Leandro Karnal, Geraldo Rufino, Edna Vasselo, Tiago Mazeto and Flávio Peralta, among others, who spoke to more than 3,200 people in person and to thousands of participants through the metaverse.
“We want people to still take advantage of this time of content available online to live the experience in the three-dimensional environments of the metaverse, which is considered the next version of the internet”, says Adriano Luiz Martins, president of Acim.
According to Martins, Connect through the metaverse received 97% reviews between “very good” and “excellent”. As a result, the entity decided to keep all knowledge content available for access and experience until the end of November.
“Considering the repercussion of the hybrid meeting, Acim’s board decided to adopt the use of this technology to broadcast other events, with the aim of keeping up with technological trends”, he informs.
According to an estimate of the Bloomberg Intelligencethe market opportunity for the metaverse might reach US$800 billion (R$4.3 trillion) by 2024.
The president also says that, among the next plans, the entity plans to provide free meeting rooms and other resources that will be available in the Acim building within the metaverse from January 2024.
“Recently, Acim turned 89 years old. With the 5th edition of Connect, held in a hybrid, in-person and metaverse format, we seek to encourage entrepreneurship in the interior of the State of São Paulo”, he states.
Martins says that the 5th edition of Connect marks the launch of the new online tool that, in the coming months, will be available to Acim’s more than 1,500 members.
“With the solution, each member will be able to create their business profile and be present in the metaverse, having access to immersive meetings, interactive business presentations and training environments, among other utilities and functionalities”, he concludes.
