A tragic event has shocked the province of Santiago del Estero. A 10-year-old boy is playing with a shotgun and may be dodged a bulletwhich affected his 13-year-old sister, taking her life.
At noon this Saturday, the mother of the children was on the terrace of the house, located in the Lote 40 area, 25 kilometers from the town of Los Juríes. Suddenly, the woman heard gunshots and ran into the house.
According to local media outlet Nuevo Diario Web, the mother entered the room and found her daughter unconscious on the bed with a gunshot wound to her neck. Just as the woman entered the room, the 10-year-old boy also walked out.
The mother immediately started screaming for help and neighbors heard her and informed the children’s father. As a result, the man contacted police, who sent a patrol car and an ambulance to tend to the wound. However, by the time doctors examined the girl, she had died from the gunshot.
After the tragedy, the victim’s parents testified in court that the shotgun was theirs and they used it to hunt. Additionally, the mother explained that both of her children were in the room when the incident occurred, so the primary assumption was that the younger boy had a gun and accidentally fired it.
The case is in charge of prosecutor Guillermo Farias, who ordered the boy to go to the Anatua Justice Center with his mother, where he will be sent to the Gesell Chamber to clarify what happened What’s up.
