A former employee of Congress accused the parliamentarian of Alianza para el Progreso, magaly ruizand one of his advisors, for the alleged payment of a monthly “quota” following receiving his salary, while working as an assistant in the Child Protection Commission, which the legislator chairs.
Carlos Marina Puscan He received, for his work in the commission, 4,200 soles. However, shortly following being hired, he was informed regarding the payment of a “voluntary” contribution of 1,500 soles for a false petty cash, whose destination was to support vulnerable children.
Marina was informed that the money would go to solidarity campaigns, visits to children with cancer, donation of food and other things. However, when he was asked for another contribution for a campaign at the Almenara Hospital, he began to question this delivery of money.
According to the communicator, the person who collected the money was Johnny Romero, principal adviser to Ruíz’s office. He asked to do it in cash, inside an envelope and in a closed room. When questioned regarding the destination of the money, he revealed that it was for the congresswoman herself, who had been left in debt following her campaign.
For this reason, on February 10, Marina sent a letter where she made the complaint before the then senior officer of Congress, Jose Cevasco. This document reached the Ethics Commission, of which the magaly ruiz is part.
Other evidence that would give away the official and her adviser are the whistleblower’s chats with a commission worker. In conversations, Carlos refers to payments and questions what was fate thereof.
