Deputies of the Congress of the Republic approved this Thursday, July 4, to reform the Temporary Law on Comprehensive Development, to add to more military veterans to the list of beneficiaries who receive a financial contribution of Q1 thousand per month for three years.
The regulations provide that new beneficiaries must be added within 45 days.
It also stipulates that the Ministry of Finance, through a cash balance, expands the budget of the Ministry of Social Development (measurements), responsible for granting the contribution.
With this, we would no longer depend on the budgetary extension requested by the Executive Body al Congress to deliver the Q1 thousand bonus.
About the law
102 deputies voted in favor of approving Decree 14-2024, which modifies the aforementioned law.
This legislation was proposed by deputies Shirley Rivera and Sergio Arana in 2022 and received a favorable opinion on April 17, 2023.
So far, according to the measurementsthe beneficiary base reaches 44 thousand and for this, approximately Q500 million are needed.
The Government assures that it is required that the Congress approve the budget extension to meet this and other commitments.
