Congress Announces List of Candidates for Second Phase of Rajasthan Assembly Elections

Jaipur: Congress has released the list of candidates for the second phase of the Rajasthan assembly elections. Congress has announced 43 candidates in the second phase.

Govind Ram Meghwal will contest from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariawas from Civil Line and Parsadi Lal Meena from Lalsot. Incumbent Agriculture Minister Murari Lal will seek mandate from Meena Dausa.

Also former chief secretary of Rajasthan, Niranjan Arya, a close supporter of Ashok Gehlot, will contest from Sojat constituency.

Congress has given tickets to five ministers, 28 sitting MLAs and one independent candidate who won the 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections.

Archana Sharma and Pushpendra Bhardwaj, who lost in the last election, are contesting this time. Archana Sharma is contesting from Malviya Nagar and Pushpendra Bhardwaji from Sanganer.

The Congress announced a list of 33 candidates in the first phase. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will seek the mandate from Sardar Pura constituency and Sachin Pilot Tong constituency. Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya will seek from Bagidora constituency, Mamata from Bhupesh Sikra and Tikaram Julie from Alwar Rural.

At the same time, activists protested in front of the BJP office in Rajasthan. The protest was due to dissatisfaction with the announcement of the candidate.

The BJP has so far announced only 124 seats in the 200-member assembly. BJP released the second phase list of 83 candidates yesterday. After this, activists came in protest. Activists are protesting by burning tyres.

BJP MLAs who were left out of the list after the first phase of seat announcement came out in protest. People from Vasundharya Raje’s side came with the protest. He had also warned that he would contest against the party if he did not get the seat.
