Mayor Michael Ludwig and Education Director Heinrich Himmer congratulate the winning school of this year’s State Innovative Schools Prize
Vienna (OTS/RK) – “I am very pleased that the Viennese schools were represented with four nominations for the State Prize for Innovative Schools and that a Viennese school received the State Prize. Schools are places for learning and growing together and the Aspern modular middle school in the Donaustadt impressively shows that this applies to the entire school,” says Mayor Michael Ludwig. “The Vienna educational community with 242,000 students in 700 schools and 28,000 educators shows every day how important education is for our city, because education promotes democracy and social peace.”
“I am very proud of all the schools in Vienna that achieve a lot together. “I congratulate the Aspern Modular Middle School and would like to thank the school management Doris Pfingstner, her colleagues and her students for the outstanding commitment,” says Education Director Heinrich Himmer.
These three other Viennese schools were nominated and share second place with all other nominees:
Open elementary school, Am Kaisermühlendamm, head teacher Petra Feldhofer-Mahmoudian
BHAK Vienna 22, HASCH/HAK, headmaster Christian Posad
BAfEP De La Salle, educational institution for elementary education, headmaster Brigitte Cizek
